Cameron Whiting

Cameron is an experienced Coastal & Floodplain Scientist and Planner with 7 years’ experience in leading complex coastal, estuarine and floodplain management projects. Cameron brings a strong understanding of NSW coastal, environmental and floodplain management policy and legislation, and a disciplinary focus on long-term strategic planning in the climate change, coastal and flood space.

Cameron is experienced in leading and coordinating community consultation, with an energetic, flexible and genuine approach to stakeholders of a variety of backgrounds. He specialises in breaking technical concepts and issues down into information accessible to community members from all levels of scientific understanding.

Cameron has lead complex, coordinated multi-agency and community consultation initiatives, including targeted First Nations engagement through his unique co-design approach of “Eat, Meet, Yarn” meetings, and managing politically complex stakeholders through the NSW Government Batemans Bay Coastal Taskforce.

 Camerons experience in local government provides him with deep, practical knowledge of the realities and complexities of working within the local government environment, and this translates to effective, empathetic and pragmatic planning.
