Transport Economist / Transport Planner
We are looking for an early career transport economist or transport planner with relevant industry experience within Australia. We are seeking someone with a passion for growing into a career that will shape transport outcomes into the future. Working with Rhelm, you would have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, both nationally and internationally. We work on a variety of transport sectors including, road, ports and maritime, freight, and public and active transport. We provide expert advice to both public and private sector clients, aiding in strategic planning, feasibility and project development.
We have an exciting range of projects that we are currently working on and numerous other upcoming opportunities. We are looking for individuals that can manage their time well and cope with a fast paced consultancy environment. Experience with economic modelling or traffic modelling would be favourable, while a high level of proficiency in Excel is a minimum requirement. We have offices in Sydney (Neutral Bay), Newcastle and Melbourne, with the role able to be undertaken in our Sydney office.

The successful candidate will:
Play a key role within Rhelm's economic discipline
Work with multi-disciplinary teams delivering a variety of transport projects
Work on a diverse range of projects including feasibility studies, regional master planning, business cases, network studies and transport infrastructure planning and justification
Work with an energetic and motivated team of professionals in a supportive and encouraging environment
Represent Rhelm at internal and external meetings, events and conferences
Be given responsibility for the delivery of tasks, including meeting budget, time-frame and quality targets, exceeding client expectations
Work with senior staff to resolve technical issues and advance techniques within economic models and planning assessments
Be supported in their career development and assisted to remain at the forefront of industry in relation to practice and skills
The successful candidate will have:
1+ years of experience in transport planning or transport economics within Australia
For economists, demonstrable understanding of cost benefit analysis in development projects Australia
For planners, a demonstrable understanding of analytical traffic modelling packages
High proficiency in Excel and the ability to prepare well written and readily comprehensible reports
Have work experience in consultancies within Australia
Possess excellent communication and coordination skills
